Non-penetrating glaucoma surgeries, deep sclerectomy and canaloplasty have been developed in recent years in order to improve the safety of conventional filtering procedures. Effective management of glaucoma and lower complication rates prompt a growing interest to the nonpenetrating techniques. During the last decade non-penetrating glaucoma surgery has noted significant progress with refinements in surgical techniques, improvements in surgical instruments and use of modern surgical microscopes.
