Dr. A 73-year-old known glaucoma patient presenting with macular edema secondary to central retinal vein occlusion was treated with intravitreal triamcinolon injection. Visual acuity increased within the first 2 months without any IOP increase, however, at the end of 2 months he returned with signs resembling malignant glaucoma and intraocular pressure could be controlled only after pars plana vitrectomy. This case implies that, eyes with CRVO and known glaucoma may be at a higher risk for such complication as intractable glaucoma and must be evaluated meticulously before intravitreal triamcinolon injection.
