DOI : 10.37844/glauc.cat.2022.17.9 Congenital cataract is a leading cause of childhood blindness. Early diagnosis and treatment are important because of the high risk of amblyopia. Newborn babies should be screened early. Often the cataract is regarded as idiopathic; it can be genetic but is frequently associated with other systemic or ocular abnormalities which can influence the final visual outcome. Visual rehabilitation of congenital cataract includes optical correction of aphakia and amblyopia treatment. Keywords : Congenital cataract, aphakia, ambliyopia
